Meet Jean Ehmke

Jean Ehmke, the founder and lead designer of JeanE Kitchen and Bath Design, moved to Raleigh in 1999. Her education and experience have come together to give her a unique set of skills for designing and managing kitchen and bath projects. Jean obtained her second major in Interior Design from Meredith College. While at Meredith, she focused her skills on kitchen and bath design and completed specialty course work from the National Kitchen and Bath Association. 

Jean's first degree is in Fire Protection and Safety Engineering Technology. She spent over ten years in the fire protection field specializing in fire suppression and detection systems for ships and offshore platforms. In addition to the understanding of technical matters, she gained valuable project and people management skills.

Jean's career then took a new direction when she owned a company that manufactured voice activated intercom systems. This gave her the knowledge to successfully run her own company. However, it was upon moving to Raleigh that Jean decided it was time to explore her creative side. So, she sold her company and went back to school! Jean graduated from Meredith College with a degree in Interior Design. For six years, Jean worked for a kitchen and bath design company in Raleigh.

It is with this extensive background, founded in education and experience, that she is putting her passion for good design and customer service into her company, JeanE Kitchen and Bath Design.
